On June 2nd, the 2024 Huazhong University of Science and Technology's Second "Dragon Soaring in Yuyuan" Dragon Boat Invitational Competition took place at Huxi River on campus. The event aimed to promote Chinese dragon boat culture, uphold the spirit of dragon boat racing, inspire campus dragon boat teams, and foster cultural self-awareness and self-confidence among teachers and students. Eleven departmental teams, consisting of students from various colleges and departments across the university, fiercely competed on the river, drawing a large crowd of teachers and students to support the courageous competitors.

On the shimmering lake, the grand spectacle of dragon boat racing was breathtaking. The sound of drums reverberated through the sky, showcasing the magnificent momentum of Chinese culture. Led by ICARE student advisor Ms. Zhao Yiting and class of 2023 student Wei Zuyuan, ICARE's competitors grasped their dragon boat paddles and bravely moved forward against the turbulent waves. They displayed perfect coordination, uniform steps, and vigorous paddling, striving to achieve the fastest speed in the waves. This fully demonstrated their indomitable spirit and forward-looking attitude.

In the end, after tough selection and competition, they successfully won the second prize due to their exceptional strength and outstanding performance. The dragon boat invitational competition was not just a sports event, but also a cultural exchange that beautifully showcased the deep and unique charm of Chinese culture. Additionally, it bolstered the unity and sense of belonging among ICARE's faculty and students, infusing new energy into the promotion of campus culture.
